MYY LOCATION
A property marketplace for buying, renting and listing across India.
The client
MYY LOCATION is a property portal from Kolkata where owners, agents and builders list flats, houses, shops, offices, land, warehouses and PG rooms for sale, rent or lease. It covers Kolkata, Howrah, Siliguri, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad.
The brief
A portal like this has to work for two very different groups. Buyers and renters want to search quickly and trust what they see. Owners, agents and builders want to post a property without a complicated sign-up.
On top of that, every listing needed to be checked before it went live.
What I built
- Search with Buy, Rent, Lease and PG/Hostel tabs, filtered by location, property type, budget and bedrooms
- Categories for residential, commercial, PG and hostel, land, and warehouse or factory listings
- A posting flow for owners, agents and builders, with their role shown on every listing
- Moderation, so each listing is reviewed before it's published
- A legal dispute declaration that sellers must complete and buyers can see
- Login with a mobile number and one-time code, with no password to remember
- Featured listings and a projects section for builders
Speaking the local language of land
Land in eastern India is still often measured in katha, bigha and decimal. I added these alongside square feet, square yards, square metres and acres, and convert everything to square feet behind the scenes so buyers can compare listings fairly.
It's a small detail, but it's the kind of thing that makes local users trust a portal.
